Shivkar Bapuji Talpade a well known scholar claimed for designing an airplane 8 years before Wright brothers. Talpade is known to have developed airplane named Marutsakha, which has been developed focused around Vimana, fanciful flying machines from Vedas.
2. Pythagorean Theorem
Apart from the other innumerable contributions that were made by Baudhayana, rendering Pythagorean theorem & estimating the value of Pi to some extent were the most significant ones. The Sutras written by him were noteworthy and truly instructive throughout the course.
Dr. Jagadish Chandra Bose who was known as Father of Radio Science. Bose demonstrated the use of radio in 1895 in Kolkata, before the Italian scientist Guglielmo Marconi. He also has a crater on the moon named as “Bose” in his honor.
4. Test Tube Baby
First test-tube baby was born in England on 25th July, 1978, through a method devised by Robert Edwards. After 3 months, the 2nd test-tube baby was born in Kolkata under the guidance of Subhash Mukhopadhyay, using a different method, in the opinion of some, superior to – method used by Robert Edwards.
Government didn’t support his work and went on to doubt his findings. He was called fraud, later humiliated by those who weren’t qualified to evaluate his work. He committed suicide on 19th June, 1981. He always claimed that, if he had received the support rather than opposition of India’s scientific establishment, he could have beaten the British to the first IVF birth.
Shiva Ayyadurai claims that at the age of 14 he started developing E-mail and finally copyrighted it in 1982. Later he went on to wining White House competition for developing a system to automatically analyze and sort email messages.
